EXTREMELY RARE GRAND HOTEL COCA COLA Translucent Lucite Advertising Sign. Measurements: Height: 40" x Length: 24 1/4". Material: Translucent Lucite For Lightbox Display. Attention Coca Cola Collectors Who Profess To Have Everything Coke.
You Don't Have This Sign! In 1990, the Broadway musical, Grand Hotel, embarked upon its National tour. One of the stops this show likely made was in Anaheim, California at the similarly named Grand Dinner Theater, located in the Grand Hotel.
Opened in 1977, The Grand Dinner Theater was a 400 seat venue that was Orange County's only union venue that staged Broadway productions. As part of a sponsorship deal, this Sign Was Custom Produced to display in show promotional lightboxes at the theater. Perhaps only 1 to 4 were ever created. After shows ended, the lightbox signs were typically thrown out and new signs promoting the current shows were installed.
Unlike movie posters, that get distributed to dozens if not hundreds of venues, The Grand Dinner Theater was 1 of 1. The Grand Dinner Theater was permanently closed in 1992. 99.999% chance you don't have this sign. For a survivor piece that was probably rescued from a dumpster, this sign is in surprisingly good condition. No structural damage, no repairs. There is some scratching throughout, however, these imperfections largely blend in at standard viewing distance and do not impede the unique beauty of this extremely rare advertising sign. Colors may vary due to lighting.(meeting arrangements can be made in Riverside, Orange County, LA, San Bernardino or San Diego, please text for details).
